Thankful Sunday

Thanks to winter. It's exceptional beauty makes the miserable cold seem almost bearable, and makes the summer days twice as sweet.

Thanks to all of those hostile and militant about celebrating Xmas. It reminds me how wonderful it is to meet and celebrate different faiths or no faith at all. It makes me explore my own strange faith and change something about it so I remember that it is impossible to know truth, God, or everything. I used to think I could. That existence is about as miserable as it gets.

Thanks to all those who help the consumerist machine run at its lowest levels. The Superstore Clerks, The Mall workers, the tellers...the service workers who have a busy Christmas, and see the underside of the holiday with a smile on their face. Commercialized, exploitative, maybe even the essence of a kind of evil...yet...it is Christmas. I love it. I find my own meaning in it. For all those who celebrate...whatever you celebrate...

HAPPY ALLOFIT!

The title of your blog is 'Socialist Christian Hippie', but there is nothingin this post that would lead me to believe that you are indeed a Christ-follower...

Truth is easy to know - it is in following the Truth of the Bible. It is following that Truth daily that can be challenging.

God is "impossible to know" - huh? He is impossible to speak for, He is impossible to understand fully, but He is quite possible to know.

Have a Merry Christmas.

I am very much a follower of Christ.

Christ says the kingdom of God is a mystery. It is something both within us and without us at any moment.

We can look for it, but never find it.

All people are part of it.

The commandments say "Thou shalt not make a graven image."

When one "knows" God in a way that can be spoken, sung, shown...that is a graven image. Solid. Unchanging.

My God is dynamic.

The words just open doors that go on forever.

Everything spoken about the words are new doors.

"My house has many rooms"

My truth has mansions within mansions within mansions.
